Stefan Salvatore
---- THE BASICS
Character's Full Name: Stefan Salvatore
Nicknames and Aliases: He's probably had a few aliases over the years.
Age: 164, appears about 17.
Species: Vampire
Played By: Paul Wesley
Appearance: Stefan is five feet and eleven inches tall with an athletic, muscular build. His hair is light brown, naturally wavy, and typically cut short. He doesn't like to style it too much, but he's not opposed to a little hair gel if he's having a bad hair day. His eyes are hazel, sometimes appearing blue or green depending on the lighting.
Stefan is a casual dresser. Jeans and a t-shirt is his usual go-to outfit. He tends to wear dark and neutral colors, like navy, black, and gray. Casual button-down shirts make appearances as well. He also wears hooded sweatshirts and he has a few denim and leather jackets. He has a lot of tank top undershirts he wears, usually when he's hanging around the house. He wears sneakers usually, but has a few pairs of boots. He wears a ring that contains a lapis lazuli stone, and has the Salvatore family crest on it. This ring allows him to walk in the sunlight. He has a rose tattoo on his right shoulder.
Personality: Stefan's personality has undergone a drastic transformation recently. He has lost his ties to his humanity and has virtually no conscience or empathy for others. Currently, he quite enjoys being a vampire and utilizing his various skills and abilities. He likes to taunt and torment others, particularly those closest to him emotionally (for example, Elena and Damon). When he feeds, it's the most intoxicating feeling in the world and he feeds viciously and ruthlessly, destroying his victims in his frenzy. He does feel love to some degree, but it manifests in the form of obsession or fixation. He feels loyalty to Klaus (because he's been compelled to) and, to a lesser degree, Rebekah. However, there also appear to be lingering feelings of loyalty toward Elena and Damon. No matter how much he appears not to care, when push comes to shove, his true, deep-seeded feelings will prevail.
There is another side to Stefan that's a bit buried at the moment, but not entirely gone. When Stefan is tied to his humanity, he feels deep guilt for his wrong doings, and fears losing control more than anything else. He holds human life in high regard and avoids hurting people whenever possible. However, he will hurt others out of self-defense, or if he's protecting someone. Human blood is almost like a drug to him, and he tries to avoid it. When he does drink human blood, he consumes blood bags from hospitals to prevent himself from potentially hurting someone. He's very polite and gentle, for the most part, and tries to wrangle those around him to make sure everyone's as safe as possible.
At the core, there are some things about Stefan that are the same, no matter which side of him you're dealing with. He's well-educated and methodical. He likes to be in control of any situation he's in, and gets a bit testy when he's not. He's also fiercely protective of those he cares about, even though he may appear indifferent to them. Mess with his loved ones, he'll snap your neck without a second thought.

---- ROLE PLAY SAMPLE
It was a quiet morning in Mystic Falls. The air was warm and there was a cool breeze blowing through the trees. Fall was approaching. It was an undetectable change in the weather to most, but it was there. The air smelled a little less sweet and the breeze carried just the hint of a chill. The edges of the leaves were just beginning to show a change in color.
Stefan sat at a small table outside a restaurant. A cup of coffee sat in front of him and he could see steam rising from it. The liquid in the cup was a rich brown and carried a bitter smell he didn't find particularly appealing, but it was tolerable.
"Stefan."
A soft voice drifted over to him from across the table. A voice he recognized immediately. He would have known it anywhere. He glanced up at Elena. She was looking at him with those deep brown eyes. Her thin brows were knit with concern. There was just a trace of fear in her expression, and that pained him.
"Stefan?"
He blinked and she had changed. He straightened in his chair and had to stop himself from standing too quickly, forcing himself to stay in his seat. One hand gripped the edge of the table tightly. Elena was gone, and Katherine sat across from him, a playfully wicked smile on her face. Elena's bright eyes and warm features had been replaced with Katherine's cold, icy face. She giggled and the sound cut through Stefan like a knife. He felt the table's edge begin to strain under his grip. Katherine grinned at him and leaned forward.
"You're going to kill her, you know."
Stefan frowned.
"Who? What are you talking about?"
But all he got in response was a laugh before Katherine was gone, too, and he was alone at the table. He stood up, nearly knocking over his chair as he did. What the hell was happening?
"Look at you. You're all over the place."
He spun around to see Damon standing behind him leaning against... Was that their living room he was looking at? He turned to look behind him where the table had been, but it was gone. It had been replaced by his living room fireplace. He looked back to Damon, confused and frustrated. He felt like punching a hole in something, but he balled his hands into fists instead.
"What the hell is this?" he demanded. "What's going on?"
Damon smirked. That arrogant smirk Stefan hated so much.
"What does it look like? You're trippin' out. Like some Axe-wearing frat boy on an acid trip."
Stefan clenched his teeth and ran both hands through his hair. Suddenly he felt angry. The feeling had swept over him before he'd realized it, and now it was consuming him.
"God, look at you. You're a mess," Damon continued.
"Shut up."
Stefan's voice came out in a growl and he could feel his fangs beginning to poke their way through his gums.
"A few months of feeding like a real vampire, and you're falling apart. Pathetic, dude. Really."
"I said SHUT UP."
Stefan tried to lunge at him, but something held him back. He couldn't move. Then he realized Damon was gone. He was staring at an old wooden door set into a stone wall. Everything was dark and he felt incredibly tired and weak. He tried to raise his hand to his head to wipe sweat off his face, but his arm wouldn't move. A metallic rattling sound made him look down. His arms were shackled tightly to the arms of a chair.
All at once he remembered where he was and who had put him there, and he clenched his teeth, grinding them together so hard his jaw hurt.
Elena.
Alaric had taken him down, but Elena had helped him. He was angry, but not at her. For some reason he couldn't bring himself to be angry at her. Why was that? He jerked his arms around in their restraints, knowing it wouldn't do any good, but he had to do something. He growled in frustration, a low, animal sound deep in his throat that erupted into something not unlike a roar. It echoed through the little room and came back to him. He was alone.
