Gabriel Craven
---- THE BASICS
Character's Full Name: Gabriel Craven
Nicknames and Aliases: Just Gabriel, please.
Age: He is 124 in years, but he appears somewhere between the age of 18-25.
Species: Vampire
Played By: Ben Barnes
Appearance: Gabriel is about 6'2", thin and sinewy, but has adequate muscle definition. His eyes, just like his hair, are so dark brown they are almost black, and change when he -vamps out-
style-- Gabriel’s style is refined, but simple. Tailored slacks and pressed button downs, though he will don a tee-shirt when the sun is out. He likes the odd sensation of warm on his skin. He is not particularly fond of attention, so he doesn’t play up his good looks, though it is never gone unnoticed by others. He thinks he is something shameful to look at; not beautiful like the beach at dawn or the waterfall at dusk.
His hair is another story, as mentioned above it has a mind of its own and often looks like he just rolled out of bed, which is hasn’t, because he never sleeps in a bed. Sadly, he believes he doesn’t deserve this luxury. Oh, I’m prattling...
Personality: Though a vampire who is empty inside SHOULD be just as dull behavior wise, he is quite the opposite. He can be very charming and innocent; though he usually doesn’t get close enough for others to see this. He has a curiosity for things that seems almost naïve and child-like, and will react to new things with unexpected intensity. He is quiet and reserved, almost to the point of being shy, though it is more for his protection and the protection of those around him.
Compelled long ago by his sire to lack emotion and empathy for the species that they prey upon, the eternally youthful man has forgotten how to feel, and can become easily confused when it happens.
He doesn't see a difference between right and wrong, only believing with ultimate conviction in the words of the old one that made him.

---- HISTORY
Gabriel was once a happy, youthful man with a bright future, and a wealthy aristocratic family that not only provided financially for him, but loved him and his sister with a passion that was as warm and rich as a blanket.
The young man was bright and kind and curious, and there was a constant light in his eyes that glowed brighter when he was in the company of those he loved. And he loved so many. His parents and sibling, the good friends he surrounded himself with, young woman that intrigued him as much as they did mesmerize him.
But there was another that saw this light within the boy; a loathsome vampire called Ravenos that wanted to steal this glow in order to illuminate his own path.
Ravenos was a very old and powerful vampire, but for all the potency of his magic, he had a crippling flaw. He had been monstrously scarred with a curse by a witch of equal potency. One whom he had loved once, and had betrayed him. There was no magic that he could find that would break the curse.
For centuries Ravenos hunted under the cloak of darkness or compelled his victims in order to draw them near. He was so disfigured it was impossible to lure humans any other way than forcing their minds not to see it. Bitter and growing tired of such a nuisance; he sired a young man that would do his hunting for him.
That young man was Gabriel.
Ravenos did not only sire this male, but he wanted to break him completely so that what rose from the remains was something he could mold to his fanatical means. And break Gabriel the vampire did.
The first fissure happened the very night he was changed. Raven forced the boy to watch as he slaughtered his parents slowly, drinking of them and then bathing himself in their drained lifeblood.
The next crack in Gabriel’s soul occurred when the old vampire compelled him to take the life of his baby sister. Deep within the young man knew he did not want to do it, but he was powerless to resist the spell Raven had put him under.
After his old life was extinguished like a flame that never was Ravenos made the neophyte his servant. He tortured Gabriel and kept him locked away to suffer in hunger, loneliness and dark save for the nights the elder compelled him to retrieve humans from which they would feed.
Over the years Gabriel became a shell of his former self; bound by his sire to turn off his human emotions the youth felt nothing except when the elder would physically torment him in twisted ways one would loathe to even imagine.
After a hundred years Gabriel is merely a shadow; a soulless being with no dreams, desires and no conscience.
When Ravenos got wind of Klaus’s plan and the introduction of hybrids, the elder vampire was outraged. Being an old one he considered the mutations as an abomination of the species. No, our twisted sire of Gabriel is not an animal lover.
The crazy bloodsucker devised a plan to rid the world of this plague, but not before ending Elena, the key to these atrocities.
The vampire moved their dwelling to the town of Mystic Falls, and his sire required Gabriel to enroll in high school.
Compelled to remain utterly devoid of emotion, Gabriel has become that dark, quiet boy in the back of the class. The one that stares and is so very distracted. Its almost as if the teacher doesn’t notice he is there at all…
---- ROLE PLAY SAMPLE
[Gabriel is a demon here, but, still the same Gabriel. ]
Gabriel brought his pale fingers to his face, startled that when he pulled the curious digits away they were colored by his blood. The guileless demon; ever confused by the peculiar actions of humans, wondered why the male had reacted the way that he had when Gabriel had only given the female what she had requested. And how kind of the woman to have shown him her beautiful body. The demon had always found the female form quite attractive; intriguing in the way it was so very different from his own. Where as men were hard and tough, women were soft and gentle. Their voices like music. Their arms open…
Just like the chocolate haired female that suddenly appeared at his side as he mused there on the sidewalk.
Gabriel looked up into her striking jade colored eyes and tilted his head to one side. Her words bewildered the ingenious demon, for he knew naught of the emotion which she spoke of. Jealousy, greed, adoration; they were all unfamiliar to him. He had felt such things stirring in his chest once before; glorious sensations that had filled him with colors of the rainbow, but all had been stolen by the one that kept him on a leash. The choice to feel had been thieved from him. Emptiness kept Gabriel from letting those detrimental feelings wound him as they had before.
Her voice was entrancing and the side-ways smile just as magnetic, and he peered absently at the hand on his arm and was moved by the gentle weight of it there.
Gabriel pulled himself up to stand and glanced back unaffectedly at the couple who had started the trouble. They were arguing back and forth and one other male was having to hold the boyfriend back. He was drunk and gunning for a brawl and the demon had tickled his trigger.
“But I have others. I would have given him one if it was asked of me.” Gabriel lifted an alabaster hand to the colored beads hanging about his neck and gave a slight tug. “Perhaps it was the color of her beads that so offended him.” He arched a black brow at the male who had turned on his friend by now, and a play of fist against face and face against the concrete had begun.
His face was impassive when it was turned back to Shelly, and blinking, he let his black orbs drift down her frame and back up to that lovely olive stare. For an ephemeral moment there seemed a brightening of his dark gaze, but like a ghost it was gone no sooner than it had appeared. Gabriel was shoved slightly forward and into the russet haired woman, but still, he was unaffected. “You belong on one of those.” He lifted a pointed digit and directed her attention to a multihued float passing by; this one carrying a band of bright, lively dancing ladies.
“Have you fallen off of one?”
